Parking
  Here are driving directions to the east side of Mount Washington from various metropolitan areas of the northeastern United States and southern Canada.  If you are going to the Cog Railway or any of the trailheads on the west side of the mountain, you must take Route 302 instead of Route 16.  Route 302 passes west and south of Mt. Washington, and is the red line immediately west and south of the orange triangle on my New Hampshire Map.

Bangor
• Take I-95 west about 30 miles to Route 2 (Exit 40).
• Take Route 2 west for a few hours all the way to New Hampshire.
• As you enter Gorham, the first town in NH, turn left onto Route 16 south.
• Follow 16 several miles to Dolly Copp Campground, the Auto Road, Wildcat Ski Area or Pinkham Notch!

Boston
• Take I-93 north into NH.  Be sure to stay on I-93!
• At the 69 mile mark in NH, get off, and turn right onto 104 east.
• Take 104 east 10 miles.
• At the end of 104, turn left at the light and go down the hill about a mile.
• In downtown Meredith, turn right onto 25 east.  (Just look for the sign for Mt. Washington Valley.)
• Follow 25 east for 22 miles, through several small towns.
• At the end of 25, turn left at the light onto 16 north.
• Follow 16 north about 17 miles to Conway.
• In downtown Conway, there are 2 traffic lights just 1 block apart.  Turn left at the 2nd light to stay on 16 north.
• Follow 16 north about ½ hour through North Conway and into Glen.
• At the bottom of the hill in Glen, turn right at the light to stay on 16 north.
• Follow 16 north for 15 minutes to Pinkham Notch, Wildcat Ski Area, the Auto Road or Dolly Copp Campground!

Burlington
• Take I-89 south to Montpelier.
• Get off onto Route 2 east (Exit 8).
• Carefully follow Route 2 east for about 2 hours to Gorham, NH.
• On the east side of Gorham, turn right onto Route 16 south.
• Follow 16 several miles to Dolly Copp Campground, the Auto Road, Wildcat Ski Area or Pinkham Notch!

Hartford
• Take I-84 east toward Boston
• Follow I-84 until it ends in Massachusetts
• At the end of I-84, take the Mass Pike east toward Boston
• Follow the Mass Pike for 11 miles
• Get off at the I-290 Auburn/Worcester exit.  After the toll booth, keep left and head toward Worcester
• Follow I-290 through Worcester.  Do NOT take I-190 toward Fitchburg!
• At the end of I-290, keep left and take I-495 north.
• Follow I-495 north and east for 30 miles.
• Get off on I-93 north (Exit 40, second ramp)
• Follow I-93 north into NH.  Be sure to stay on I-93!

• On the east side of Gorham, turn right onto Route 16 south.
• Follow 16 several miles to Dolly Copp Campground, the Auto Road, Wildcat Ski Area or Pinkham Notch!

New York City
• Take I-95 North into Connecticut
• Just before you get to downtown Hartford, take I-84 east toward Boston
• Follow I-84 until it ends in Massachusetts
• At the end of I-84, take the Mass Pike east toward Boston
• Follow the Mass Pike for 11 miles

• Take Route 417 east in Ontario to Route 40 east in Québec.
• In Montréal, at Exit 66, take the Autoroute Décarie east to Highway 10, crossing the St. Lawrence River.
• Follow Highway 10 east to Highway 55 south (Exit 121).
• Follow 55 south into the USA, where it becomes I-91.
• Get off onto Route 2 east at Exit 21.
• Carefully follow Route 2 east for almost 60 miles to Gorham, NH.
• On the east side of Gorham, turn right onto Route 16 south.
• Follow 16 several miles to Dolly Copp Campground, the Auto Road, Wildcat Ski Area or Pinkham Notch!

Portland
• Take Route 25 west about 20 miles outside of town.
• 3 miles past Standish, Maine, turn right onto 113 north.
• Carefully follow 113 about 30 miles to Fryeburg.
• In Fryeburg, turn left onto 302 and cross into NH.
• Several miles into NH, turn right toward 16 north.
• Follow 16 north through North Conway and into Glen.
• At the bottom of the hill in Glen, turn right at the light to stay on 16 north.
• Follow 16 north for 15 minutes to Pinkham Notch, Wildcat Ski Area, the Auto Road or Dolly Copp Campground!

Providence
• Take I-95 north up and around Boston.
• Get off on I-93 north (Exit 35).
• Follow I-93 north into NH.  Be sure to stay on I-93!
• At the 69 mile mark in NH, get off, and turn right onto 104 east.
• Take 104 east 10 miles.
• At the end of 104, turn left at the light and go down the hill about a mile.

• Get off onto Route 2 east at Exit 21.
• Carefully follow Route 2 east for almost 60 miles to Gorham, NH.
• On the east side of Gorham, turn right onto Route 16 south.
• Follow 16 several miles to Dolly Copp Campground, the Auto Road, Wildcat Ski Area or Pinkham Notch!

Toronto
• Take Route 401 east several hours to Québec, where it becomes Route 20.
• In Montréal, take Highway 10 east toward Sherbrooke.
• Follow Highway 10 east to Highway 55 south (Exit 121).
• Follow 55 south into the USA, where it becomes I-91.
• Get off onto Route 2 east at Exit 21.
• Carefully follow Route 2 east for almost 60 miles to Gorham, NH.
• On the east side of Gorham, turn right onto Route 16 south.
• Follow 16 several miles to Dolly Copp Campground, the Auto Road, Wildcat Ski Area or Pinkham Notch!

Venus
• Turn right past Jupiter.
• Take the first left after Neptune.
• Carry on straight past the Moon.
• Turn west at Greenland.
• Get on Route 16 to Pinkham Notch!
