The Auto Road is open from early May till late October, weather permitting.
The tollhouse opens and closes according to the timetable below. The gate at the bottom is locked about
an hour after closing, so be sure you're off the mountain by then! For
the latest road conditions, or any other information not listed on this website, you can

The 1 1/4 hour tours depart from Great Glen Trails daily on a first come, first served basis
and advance reservations are not available due to unpredictable weather and road conditions.
On weekends and holiday periods, we recommend arriving early.

The SnowCoach up the Mt. Washington Auto Road is available at Great Glen Trails Outdoor
Center in Pinkham Notch from December through March.
May 7: Opening
Road opens to vehicular traffic. Ride to the summit of New England's highest peak in
the comfort of the Auto Road's Stage Vans or drive your own car!
June 16: 4th annual Ride to the Sky
(Motorcycles Only) 8:00AM - 5:00PM
For one day only the Mt. Washington Auto Road closes to cars and be opens
to motorcycles only. Vendors will be set up at the base of the Auto Road
and an all dayCookout for Charity will be provided by the Mt. Washington
Valley Harley Owners Group. Mt. Washington Auto Road guided tours will be
operating as normal.

Vintage horse drawn and automotive stages, which have operated for the past 140+ years,
will be on display. Don't miss this opportunity to be involved in this part of
New Hampshire's history. Vehicles with a "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington"
sticker attached prior to arrival will receive free passage up the Mt. Washington Auto Road.
