After several years of feedback from my site's visitors, I wanted to restructure the website in accordance
with what people used most (or wanted to see). I started today's MOUNTWASHINGTON.COM from scratch
in December, 2001, and built it "from ground up"... installing more modern HTML code and improved graphics.
It was a long-awaited update to the old site.
I increased the menu bar to accomodate 16 main categories (plus the front page), and installed the submenu "tabs".
(Those were adapted from www.stone-dead.asn.au, another
web site I designed.) I also rekindled an old idea and created a French mirror of the site for
mountwashington.net, so my many Canadian visitors would feel right at home!
MOUNTWASHINGTON.COM now requires versions 4.0 and higher of MSIE and Netscape to display correctly, but is at least functional
in browsers 3.0 and up. As with all previous versions, HTML was "hand-typed" (with Windows' Notepad), and 99%
of the photographs on the site are my own, aside from some historical photographs and a few by my friend Gary A.
Becker (who can be seen in several of my photos).
The new site officially went on-line Friday, February 25, 2005.
